Upper Coliban Reservoir Visitor Hub

Tachylite is a form of basaltic volcanic glass used by First Nations people and made into flaked stone implements. One of the few sources of tachylite in Australia was found in the Upper Coliban Reservoir area. It was used by Dja Dja Wurrung people and traded with other groups throughout Victoria.

3Acres LA assisted Djandak with the design of a new Djaara space at Upper Coliban Reservoir. It includes a shelter (Mayam) and a walking trail named Djangi Walendjak. The site features paths and landscaping adjacent to the spillway, as well as interpretive signage telling the stories, history and geography of the Dja Dja Wurrung people.
